Located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, this luxury residence stands out for its unique character. Its feel of the sea, aided by the natural light flood and unobstructed views blows my mind. The owner, an art enthusiast, who owns a boat and has a passion of the sea, was very much involved in the project carried out by Pepe Calderin Design.
Hence, many elements and finishes from the boat, have been brought in, creating the perfect backdrop for a well curated selection of art works. Everything is a conversation piece – a real attention grabber adding a distinct beat to the overall rock and roll vibe. Despite the rich maroon and deep blue colors, the style is hip, funky… edgy!
The maximalist flair of this residence is well poised and by no means frivolous. Its charisma is warm, inviting and refined, cultivating a deeper appreciation of fine living. Nothing is impersonal, for everything constitutes one man’s vision, inspired by the sea.
The artwork is mesmerizing, favored by the impeccable design flow and lavish design details. Everything spells out quality, endorsed by a just color palette. Neutral tones create a solid foundation, but are bathed with rich, saturated accents like those red wine Loren armchairs by Essential Home.
Likewise, the lighting fixtures add their own touch of magic to the mix with their mid-century innuendos. I spotted the Coltrone wall lamp in the living room and the Simone wall lamp in the office, both by DelightFull. Allow me to make a side note that many of the furnishings and accessories featured here are from Covet House‘s prestigious brands. And as this home shows, any space filled with character has a dreamy superiority!
I hope you enjoyed this house tour inside this luxurious Upper East Side residence. It is one I’m very fond of. Perhaps it’s because I’m also a sea lover and this home reminds me of a yacht’s interior, which is really up my alley!
Hope you have a great weekend.
